Q.Which file formats are supported?
This tool focuses on checking and removing photo EXIF/GPS metadata. Metadata cleanup currently works with JPG, JPEG, and PNG photos. JPG/JPEG files can be checked for common EXIF, GPS, XMP, and IPTC/Photoshop metadata, while PNG files are checked for metadata chunks such as eXIf, tEXt, iTXt, zTXt, and tIME.
Q.Does PNG contain GPS metadata too?
PNG usually contains less location metadata than JPEG, but eXIf and text-based chunks can still hold capture details, descriptions, or XMP data. This tool detects and removes PNG eXIf, tEXt, iTXt, zTXt, and tIME chunks.
Q.What if GPS metadata is missing?
The result clearly shows that GPS metadata is not available. Even when GPS is missing, capture time, camera/device details, editing software, author/copyright, XMP, or IPTC metadata may still remain, so review the sensitive-data badges as well.
Q.What happens to the original photo?
The original file is untouched; only a new cleaned copy is generated for download. After removal, the generated file is scanned again so you can see whether major EXIF, GPS, XMP, or IPTC metadata remains.
